A thread especially for soccer. Nothing else.
IMO, here's whose gonna win the 5 major club competitions in Europe (France, Germany, Spain, England, Italy).
France: Paris Saint-Germain
No surprise here. Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the two big boys in Ligue 1 right now. And when they're on the same team...well, let's just say, good luck to anybody else in Ligue 1 who faces them.
Germany: Bayern Munich
I think after a 2-year trophy drought, Bayern are ready to bounce back. The entire squad faced overall bad Euro 2012 results, and I think they're ready for revenge. Lotsa revenge.
Spain: Barcelona
It's gonna be a tough battle between Real Madrid and Barca, but I think Tito Vilanova's side will come up on top. Why? They're the best team in the world, and they have good chemistry together, too. The wild card here, though, is Jordi Alba. Whether Barcelona will get the title is almost entirely on how well he plays and fills in Eric Abidal's role.
England: Manchester City
With Man United losing their season opener to Everton, the Bluebirds already have a three-point lead against their local rivals, not to mention their 2-goal difference advantage as well. Expect lotsa competition and drama in the coming months, but I think City will dominate like last season.
Italy: AC Milan
This is a tough one to call, but with Juventus losing head coach Antonio Conte due to match-fixing, I think the battle will be between AC Milan and Napoli, but only if Edison Cavani is determined to give it his all and win even without Ezequiel Lavezzi, who moved to PSG. AC Milan have lost their star duo in Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic, who moved to PSG like Lavezzi, but I think they'll still come out on top, given that Robinho and Alexandre Pato will lead them there.
