This section is for people who are inexperienced with forums or for people who just want to know more about this academy and forums in general. This guide is all typed up and the pictures I use are all screenshot'd by myself so I'd appreciate it if you don't copy and paste this onto your own forum. This guide is done for the good of the academy and it is a waste of my time so please, don't steal or plagiarize any of this. If any part of this guide is found somewhere else, I'll have that forum reported.

Rules are a must. You do not have to read all of it. At least read the general rules and understand them. We won't enforce rules so strictly but, we do expect you to follow them most of the time. You can contact staff if you need help, assistance, or you just want to ask a question.

The staff are what keeps this place running smoothly and we exist to help you all. So please, try to get to know us a bit.

Here are the Staff rooms. You can post questions, concerns, or just a friendly hi. We're pretty friendly and open. However, there are times where we will be strict and there will be times where we will need to prioritize our lives before the forums. So we'll ask for your patience and understanding as our payment for our work here.

Lastly, please don't beg to be a part of the staff here! If we are in need of more people to help out around the forum, the Admins will pick the most qualified.

[Experiri - Rankings]

Cryo academy first started with the dorm system and testing however, we soon developed our own way of doing things. Our academy uses rankings and when you first join, you're automatically placed in the lowest ranking. No worries! You can rank up by dueling!

From lowest rank to highest:
Stardust [1-10]
Star [11-20]
Shooting Star [21-30]
Nova [31-40]
Quasar [41-50]

One of the quickest ways to rank up is to be active! Our academy tries to hold daily quick tourneys on the chatbox!

Your user profile is where you can change your preference, avatar, and signature. You can also add friends, view watched topics, and look for your favorite topics. I will go over the most used profile options. First off, to go to your profile, you need to press PROFILE at the top of the page between GROUPS and MESSAGES.

Once there, you will be taken to your information part of your profile.

Registration Information

Username: Can be changed by buying a name change in the DP shop
E-Mail Address: Can be changed by PMing an Admin asking to change your e-mail
Change your password: Can be changed by PMing and Admin asking for a password change/reset

Personalized Profile

Duel Network Name: This can be changed by you in case you have a new DN acc

Gender: Optional
Birthday: Optional
Location: Optional. You can put anything here.
Job/hobbies: Optional
Humor: Optional
Comments: Optional

Signatures are images or words that shows up at the bottom of every one of your posts. You can add a signature also!

You can write words or add images. To add images, you need to look for the image url. A good site to upload an image is http://tinypic.com/ When you add an image to your signature, you'll need the image tags. You can click preview at the bottom to see how your signature looks like before you save it.

Remember! Signature sizes cannot be anymore than 500x500 and it must be appropriate. If your signature is too big, place them in a spoiler.

Avatars are images that show up every time you post. They basically represent what you look like.

You can browse your computer and upload your own avatar OR you can post a url to the image [Upload an avatar from a URL]

Also remember that it must be the appropriate size and be appropriate itself.

*The size I usually use is 150x150 pixels

Dueling is one of the main activities in this academy. It helps sharpens your skills, knowledge, and it also helps you gain exp for every win.

Duels

We have several types of duels:

Normal Duels: Regular 2/3 Match. 1 vs 1
Special Duels: Duels with special rules applied at the beginning of the game. 1 vs 1
Tag Team Duels: Team Duel. 2 vs 2
Survivor Mode: Deck endurance test. 1 vs Staff
Russian Roulette: Random Deck Test
Wars: We hold war tryouts whenever our academy is challenged to a war. You receive exp for every opponent you defeat in the war and just by participating.
Tournaments: Like any other academy, we also hold tournaments of all sorts and the prizes can range from exp to graphics. This is one of the quickest ways to earn large amounts of exp.

Before you start dueling, there are some decks that we do not allow!

+ Stall: A deck full of spells, traps, and monsters used to well, stall the opponent.
+ Burn: A deck full of cards that waste away at your opponent's life points. The max number of burn cards allowed in a deck is 10. This may be changed.
+ Exodia: This deck is able to FTK and the win is a win condition. Meaning that solemns cannot negate it.
+ Deck Destruction: Mill decks like empty jars

A forum is basically a social place by posting messages. I will go through briefly about some of the forum goodies.

When you enter a thread and scroll all the way to the bottom, you should see the same box as in the screenshot. It's a quick reply box. Which means you can just type your reply to the thread there and send. Instead of pressing [Reply to Thread].

The little white boxes above the reply box are optional. Basically from left to right:

+ Bold
+ Italicize
+ Underline
+ Quote
+ Host an image / image upload
+ Image
+ Link
+ Text Color
+ Smilies
+ Other

Left of the very bottom, there is new topic and locked.

New topic allows to you to make a NEW THREAD.

When a forum is locked, it means that you can't post replies.

Quote to quote a user's post and edit to edit your own post. Please use the edit option to avoid double posting a fix to your mistakes.

This is found at the bottom of the home page.
It shows the forums statistics from messages to how many users have registered.

It also shows online users, upcoming birthdays, and users on the chat box!

The legend shows what groups our forum has and what people are in those groups.

[Loqui - Chat Box]

The chat box is a place where you can talk to forumers who are on at the moment. Here, you can just chill and relax or, you can go on and ask for things. Sometimes staff members besides the chat box mod are on so you could ask them questions as well.

The chat box is located at the top of the forum page

Simply press log in to go on. You may have to wait a few seconds for the chat box to load.

Now I'll do a quick explanation of chat box features:

Red: The list of online users and users with the "@" have chat box powers.
Orange: Announces who just joined the chat or who left the chat
Yellow: A chat box command
Green:
- "B" = Make your text bold
- "I" = Italicize your text
- "U" = Underline your text
- "S" = "Strike"/Cross out your text
- "A" = Change your text color
- "Smiley Face" = Emoticons
Purple: Commands and the space where you enter messages

Right Clicking Names

+ View member profiles
+ Send a PM to a member
+ Show yourself as Away [Yourself]
+ Leave the ChatBox [Yourself]
+ Kick a member [Staff]
+ Ban a member [Staff]
+ Make a member CBMod [Staff]

Chat Box Commands

Clear	/clear	Clears the messages in the chat box. CBMod, Admin, and Moderator can use this.
Ban	/ban USER	Bans a user from using the chat box. CBMod, Admin, and Moderator can use this.
Unban	/unban USER	Unbans a user that was banned. CBMod, Admin, and Moderator can use this.
CBMod	/mod USER	Promotes a member to CBMod. Admin can do this.
Demote	/unmod	Strips away a CBMod's power. Admin can do this.
Banlist	/banlist	Shows the list of banned members from the CBox
3rd Person	/me	Makes it so you are doing or saying things in 3rd person.
Kick	/kick	Kicks a user out of the chat box, however, they can just as quickly re-enter
Exit	/exit	Logs yourself out without clicking the logout button. It logs you off the CBox
Away Message	/away message	Labels you as away and leaves members a message
